Maylord Shopping Centre is a shopping centre in Hereford, England. Anchor stores include Wilko and Ernest Jones amongst its total of 50 shops. Development began in the mid-1980s with a partnership between Hereford City Council and Norwich Union Insurance to construct a £15m-20m shopping centre on the former site of a car park in the city's Blueschool Street.〔Hereford Times (2007-01-25) ''("£multi-million plan to do up Maylords" )'', URL last accessed 2007-01-25〕 As well as shops and eateries, the centre is a venue for local shows such as the "Baby of the Year Award" and Christmas markets. Outdoor events will often take place in the summer in the central plaza, Trinity Square. Transport links are served by a series of bus stops at the rear and an underground car park beneath the building.
